International co-operation


Since September 2012, The Smarties Science Club at JRCS has been working with the Volcano Science Club from Gimnazjum no 4 in Stargard, Poland. Our partner school has been in existence since 1988. It currently has 754 students. 


The Volcano Science Club is run by Mrs Grażyna Ochwat who is a chemistry teacher.

International Co-operation Project – the partner school visits JRCS

On Thursday 19th September a group of students and teachers from our partner school in Poland – Gimnazjum no 4 in StargardSzczeciński– visited our school. Together with The Smarties Science Club members our guests took part in a number of activities.

As we were working on the project called Alternative sources of energy – the future of our planet, the students took part in a workshop where they built different toys that operated using a solar panel:

After the tour of the school, Mr Tizzard showcased the beauty of Science by wowing our guests with a series of experiments:



On Friday, we visited The Crystal in Canning Town, East London. Built by Siemens, it is one of the most self-efficient buildings in the world. Inside you can learn about the latest trends and challenges but also existing technological solutions to build environmentally sustainable cities.
