Hydroponics experiment - THE CRUNCH

Greetings fellow Scientists!

Our first experiment focused on hydroponics. Hydroponics is a way of cultivating plants by putting the roots in liquid nutrient solutions (not in soil). Our radish seedlings were placed in the environment with different Sachs solutions:
- all nutrients are present
- solution lacking phosphorus
- solution lacking nitrogen
- solution lacking potassium.

We are going to see how each solution is going to affect the growth.

Getting ready for The Crunch

Greetings fellow Scientists!

Have you heard about The Crunch? We will be taking part in a series of exciting activities which will allow us to find out more about the food future of our planet. Watch the video to find out more:

Our kit has arrived safely and we have already started preparations for the first activity: Land, water and bees - don't take us for granted: Hydroponics. We will be explring how food plants can be grown in a small space with limited water.
