Patounis Olive Shop, Corfu, Greece

Greetings fellow Scientists!

Your travelling scientist is still enjoying the sun in Corfu. Today's recommendation is Patounis' Olive Soap Factory. It is a truly unique place where the olive soap is made using pre-industrial techniques.

Sea Shell Museum, Corfu, Greece

Greetings fellow Scientists!

Welcome to the first article in this year's "Travelling Scientist" series! A very warm welcome from Corfu in beautiful Greece. The first stop is Benitses where you can visit The Sea Shell Museum of Corfu. The museum started as a private initiative of the collector and diver Mr Napoleon Sagias. He spent some time living in Australia and he accumulated a huge collection of shells and fossils.

In this museum you can see the rare and very expensive Cypraea shell. It's value has been estimated at $22,000!
