Science at home - colourful milk

You will need:
  • food colouring (red, blue, yellow)
  • shallow bowl or plate
  • washing up liquid
  • cotton buds
  • milk (full fat works the best)

 Method:
  1. Pour some of the milk into your shallow bowl or plate. Let it settle.
  2. Carefully add three drops of each food colouring into the milk spaced around the bowl in the shape of a triangle.
  3. Take a cotton bud and dip it in the washing up liquid.
  4. Carefully place it in the middle of the bowl.
  5. Watch the colours “dancing” on the surface.

How does it work?
